Mobile network 3 Mobile and Huawei have teamed up to launch a new mobile broadband dongle that can get users online in under 15 seconds.

The E3231 goes on sale this week and is capable of delivering download speeds of up to 21.1Mbps over 3 Mobile's HSPA+ network, as well as upload speeds of up to 5.76Mbps.

It replaces the outgoing E353 model and is compatible with all PCs, laptops and netbooks. The model will feature both 3 Mobile and Huawei branding as the Chinese technology firm looks to increase brand awareness in the UK.

Mobile broadband dongles are useful tools for business workers who regularly work on the road and can also be used by households who do not have a fixed-line broadband connection.

Executive vice president of Huawei UK and Ireland Mark Mitchinson said the device "will enable consumers to take even greater advantage of [3 Mobile's] fast data network in the home and on-the-go".

He noted Huawei has a "long and productive relationship" with 3 Mobile. Earlier in the year the two companies launched the E5331 Value MiFi, which enables up to five devices to access the internet over 3 Mobile's network.
