BT fibre broadband rollout praised by Bracknell MP
Bracknell MP Phillip Lee has expressed his delight at news that BT is extending fibre optic broadband access to Finchampstead in his constituency.

During a meeting with senior officials from the telecoms giant, Dr Lee discovered that BT will shortly commence work to upgrade the exchange at Eversley, which serves Finchampstead.

It is believed that the majority of homes and businesses in the area will benefit from super-fast broadband access, although the MP stressed there is a chance that some properties may not be included in the rollout if they are too far from the nearest street cabinet.

"I am delighted to see that our combined voices have finally been heard and that faster broadband delivery will be delivered to the great majority of the constituency in the near future," Dr Lee commented.

BT has committed to investing £2.5 billion in fibre broadband as it attempts to deliver the technology to two-thirds of commercial and residential premises across the UK by the end of 2014.
