Business broadband grants reminder issued
Companies in the UK are being reminded that they have until March next year to apply for government grants worth up to £3,000 to help them to connect to better business broadband.

Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport Sajid Javid commented: "We want to make sure that small businesses have the help and support they need to grow and prosper in our digital age."

He added that he urged all small firms to take advantage of the grants while they can to help to boost their company's performance.

Uptake of the grants has been fairly successful so far, with over 460 companies in Leeds and Bradford now connected to better broadband due to them, while around 40 based in York have also taken advantage of the cash boost.

Elsewhere in the country, more than 400 firms in Manchester and Salford have signed up for one of these grants.

It is hoped that by the end of 2017, 95 per cent of residential and commercial properties in the UK will be able to connect to the superfast technology.
