CityFibre lists gigabit broadband advantages
Broadband company CityFibre has revealed the benefits of its gigabit (1,000Mbps) internet download speeds.

According to the firm, which recently promised to provide residents in Peterborough with the best infrastructure in the world, with download speeds to match those in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo, CityFibre users should be able to avoid bottlenecks at peak times.

Remote data storage of large files was also highlighted as a benefit of the service, as users will be able to upload documents to external servers quicker than would normally be allowed with average fibre-optic broadband.

Helen McCarren, of CityFibre, said: "The speed of gigabit broadband allows for services to be web based, which can be used on demand. This is cheaper, more efficient and more reliable."

Peterborough has long struggled with sub-par broadband speeds and a lack of infrastructure, but CityFibre hopes this will change in the future.
