Concerns over Cambourne broadband rollout
Concerns have been raised regarding the rollout of superfast broadband in the Cambridgeshire community of Cambourne, as it has emerged newly-built homes in the area may not receive a connection to the fibre network.

Cambridgeshire News reports that at the end of 2010, the village won BT's Race to Infinity competition to secure an upgrade to better broadband.

However, it has been revealed that homes constructed after this date may not qualify for this upgrade, much to the frustration of local residents, some of whom moved to Cambourne specifically because of its fast internet.

Matthew Pocock, Managing Director of Consulting Tools, is one such individual.

He told the newspaper: "The revelation out of the blue last week that only houses occupied by 31 December 2010 would not form part of the rollout has come as a bitter blow and completely unexpected."

Mr Pocock moved from Suffolk to the village as the concept of better broadband was attractive to him for making international calls and conducting other areas of business.
