Cornwall village gets superfast broadband boost
Residents of a rural village in Cornwall have been introduced to the benefits of superfast broadband access for the first time.

Locals from St Breward have been given the opportunity to test out the fibre optic technology in time for the Christmas period thanks to a connection that has been installed at the village's Institute and War Memorial Hall.

The network was set up with the help of the Connecting Cornwall rollout project, which has been increasing next-generation coverage all over the county. Organisers of the scheme are also enabling residents to learn more about the service by holding weekly IT classes.

Memorial Hall Secretary Veronica Stansfield explained that the classes are a great method of providing attendees with an easy way to improve their IT literacy.

She said: "It's a fantastic opportunity to be able to provide courses on people's doorsteps, meaning that they don't have to travel far and can learn together in a venue that they are familiar with."
