East London broadband rollout for Virgin Media
Virgin Media has announced the delivery of new broadband services for east London homes and businesses.

Launched last summer, the service provider's Project Lightning has now reached its halfway mark, with the news that as many as 100,000 properties have now been connected to next-generation broadband infrastructure in the area.

To mark this milestone, the company hired famous henna artist Ah Kumar - renowned for the speed of his craft - to makeover one of Virgin Media's engineering vans.

Executive Director at Virgin Media Neil Bartholomew commented: "Working with Ash Kumar has been fantastic, helping us raise awareness of the importance of better access to the digital world."

He added that thousands of homes across the capital are now benefiting from improved access to superfast networks as a result of this ongoing commitment to the creation of next-generation networks that are fit for the 21st century.
