EE delivers the best mobile broadband performance of any mobile network operator in Nottingham, according to new research from RootMetrics.

The independent consumer advocate conducted more than 25,000 performance tests comparing EE, 3 Mobile, O2 and Vodafone, with EE coming out on top overall.

RootMetrics said EE was top for the quality of its mobile internet and text messaging services in Nottingham, while the carrier was also awarded joint first place for its call performance.

The provider delivered average download speeds of 19Mbps to customers in the city - more than 10Mbps above the rate offered by any other operator. The study also found EE's typical upload speed stood at 12.6Mbps.

EE's 4G superfast mobile broadband service launched in Nottingham last December, with the carrier doubling its speeds in the city in July.

The company explained 4G allows customers to "access the web on the go in an instant, download large email attachments quicker than ever, hold video calls, watch live TV on the move without buffering and play live multiplayer games on the go".
