Fibre optic broadband provider KC has announced its support for a high-profile technology conference taking place in Hull this November.

Hull Digital Live (HD Live) 2012 will be held at the Allam Lecture Theatre, University of Hull on November 1st and will feature a keynote speech from Evan Davis, host of Dragons' Den and a presenter on BBC Radio 4.

Horace Dediu, founder and author of Asymco.com, technology journalist Bobbie Johnson and Fraser Spiers, an educational technologist, are among the other speakers lined up for the event.

The conference is designed to explore ways in which advanced technology can be utilised to drive economic growth throughout the Humber region.

KC director Nick Thompson said: "Events like HD Live and developments like KC's investment in lightning-fast fibre optic broadband will stimulate [growth] further."

By the end of this year, the internet service provider will make its super-fast broadband proposition available to 15,000 homes and businesses across east Yorkshire.
