Glamis to gain access to superfast broadband
Superfast broadband is on its way to Glamis, thanks to the local £410 million rollout initiative.

The Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband programme is set to bring the high-speed technology to approximately 600 homes and businesses in the Angus area, with Glamis and Arbroath residents and those based near the Alyth exchange next in line to benefit from an internet upgrade to the fibre network.

Local people will be able to access improved online loading speeds of up to 80Mbps by the winter, due to the work of network provider BT's Engineers.

In addition, it will now be easier to download large files quickly and to access the web on more than one device at a time in a single household.

Mairi Evans, Development and Enterprise Convener at Angus Council, commented: "Digital connectivity is essential for the prosperity of our companies and communities," before adding: "This latest phase is a welcome introduction to superfast broadband for Glamis."

Throughout the whole of Scotland, the large-scale regional rollout project has already connected around 55,000 residential and commercial properties to superfast broadband.
