iPass predicts growth in enterprise Wi-Fi adoption
Businesses are set to focus on wireless broadband technology over the coming years to support the growing trend of 'bring your own device', according to iPass.

John Gallagher, director of public and analysis relations at the enterprise mobility services firm, said adoption of Wi-Fi is expected to grow by 4.5 times over the next three years as employees increasingly use their own mobile devices for work.

Large businesses are now focused on developing their own networks to deliver easy and cost-effective access to data, he claimed.

"There's the idea of being able to have your mobile device, whether a smartphone or tablet, and having that with Wi-Fi connectivity or 3G," Mr Gallagher explained.

His comments come just a month after iPass announced its mobile network now includes more than one million commercial Wi-Fi hotspots across the world.

The world's largest commercial wireless internet infrastructure offers access points in over 56,000 hotels, 2,600 airports and on thousands of flights every day.
