Lincolnshire villages' broadband boost
As many as nine villages across Lincolnshire are preparing for the rollout of improved broadband infrastructure as part of the ongoing Northern Lincs Broadband project.

The project was launched in March last year and has so far proven extremely popular with residents and businesses alike, the Scunthorpe Telegraph reports.

The villages of Alkborough, Barnetby, Burton-Upon-Stather, Croxton, Elsham, Kirmington, Kirton-in-Lindsey, Ulceby and Wootton are all expected to be linked to new broadband networks by the end of March.

Cabinet Member for Policy and Resources at North Lincolnshire Council Neil Poole said: "It is great to see the project running as planned and even better that some areas are being connected to superfast broadband ahead of schedule."

He added that the Northern Lincs Broadband project is predicted to encompass as many as 31,000 properties across the region by the end of June. It is a collaboration between North Lincolnshire Council, North East Lincolnshire Council and BT.
