Lutterworth broadband rollout 'gathering pace'
As many as 9,000 premises across the Leicestershire town of Lutterworth and the surrounding area  have now gained access to superfast broadband services and this figure is forecast to grow by a further 4,500 properties over the coming months.

The areas of Lutterworth town centre, Broughton Astley, Gilmorton and Swinford are now able to draw upon high-speed broadband connections as standard, while the locations of Ashby Parva, Claybrooke Magna, Dunton Bassett and most of Ullesthorpe will receive connectivity boosts in the coming months, the Harborough Mail reports.

Delivered as part of the Superfast Leicestershire project - a collaboration between Leicestershire County Council and BT - the scheme has already witnessed the installation of 114 green roadside cabinets and 248 km of fibre cables across the county, with more to follow.

County Council Cabinet Member for Broadband Pam Posnett said: "I'm delighted homes and businesses in Lutterworth are beginning to enjoy the benefits of fibre broadband .

"It makes a huge difference to communities and is helping boost our economy."
