Natural Generation hails Superfast Cornwall broadband rollout
A Perranporth business has hailed the Superfast Cornwall fibre optic broadband programme, saying the rollout has enabled it to create jobs in the town and the surrounding areas.

Natural Generation, which installs and maintains wind turbines, solar panels and other renewable energy sources, is one of many firms to sign up for superfast broadband since it arrived as part of the public-private rollout.

It has grown rapidly since being established eight years ago by two partners, rising from five to 25 employees in the past four years alone.

Managing Director Ivor Thomson believes further expansion is on the horizon now the company has access to next-generation connectivity.

Natural Generation maintains around 100 wind turbines, all of which are connected to the internet.

Mr Thomson explained: "If one breaks down, we can see it on the large screen in our office or online and we can usually sort out the problem remotely.

"In other words, high-speed internet is vital and superfast broadband has been tremendous for us."

Superfast Cornwall, a partnership between BT, the EU and Cornwall Council, is aiming to bring fibre optic broadband within reach of 95 per cent of the county by the end of this year.
