Ofcom: Bundling could be best approach to buying broadbandA new study by Ofcom has found that broadband bundles are among the best bargains for many users looking to access the internet. ![]() Ofcom has published a study showing that taking more than one communications service from the same provider can be a great way to cut costs. It has revealed that by taking internet and phone services from a leading broadband provider such as O2, which also provides mobiles, customers can make big savings. The watchdog found nearly half of customers bundle at least some of their communications services in this way. However, Ofcom advises consumers who do not want to be tied into a deal to check the terms and conditions, because bundling may not be the best solution for them. "If one element is broadband, does the deal provide quick enough internet speed and is the download limit large enough?" it asks, highlighting the questions consumers need to ask before signing up for this type of arrangement. There could soon be a rise in the number of people with access to the internet following the launch of a new government campaign which aims to get 7.5 million more people on the web by 2014.
