Shropshire pupil wins broadband cabinet design competition
Paige Liversidge, an 11-year-old pupil at Bicton Church of England Primary School in Shropshire, has won a competition to design an image to adorn a local green roadside cabinet to promote the arrival of better broadband in the area.

Her school is the first in the county to gain a connection to the superfast technology thanks to network provider BT under the Connecting Shropshire rollout project, so the artistic contest was launched to educate community members of all ages about the benefits the fibre service would bring.

The competition winner explained: "For my design, I chose lots of bright colours so that people walking past would want to stop and read my sticker and learn what it means to have fast broadband."

Acting Head Teacher at the school Natalian Johnson added the fibre broadband connection would enable pupils to get more from the internet, using it for research throughout many areas of the curriculum.

Connecting Shropshire has plans to install 75 cabinets in the county thanks to millions of pounds of investment in the regional rollout, with 55 of these now live.
