Superfast 'boost' for North Cornwall
Superfast Cornwall has claimed that its fibre optic broadband connection has allowed businesses across the county to grow into new markets.

VC Warehouse - a firm based in Marhamchurch, near Bude - has outlined just how important the laying of new cables in the area has been.

Managing Director Verity Lawson said: "We now enjoy internet speeds of around 30 Mbps, which is 20 times faster than previously. This means we can be far more effective and productive."

VC Warehouse has received extensive funding from Superfast Cornwall to help it bring its online infrastructure up to scratch, something the director claims is helping her to access new markets and hire new employees.

Superfast Cornwall is a partnership between the EU, Cornwall Council and BT, which has so far brought high-speed internet to 82 per cent of homes in the north of the county.

Executives at the organisation aim to bring fibre optic cabling to 95 per cent of properties in Cornwall by the end of 2014.
