Superfast broadband goes live in Blairgowrie
BT has announced the installation of high-speed internet in the Blairgowrie area of Scotland.

The telecoms giant has been keen to trumpet its achievements in the nation in recent weeks and claims its fibre optic rollout is helping thousands of people a week access new online infrastructure.

John Swinney, MSP for the area, said: "Superfast fibre broadband in Blairgowrie offers huge benefits to local residents and businesses and will help our local economy to flourish. Better, faster communications help businesses to grow and stimulate job creation."

These views were echoed by Pete Wishart, MP for Perth and north Perthshire, who called the fibre optic expansion "great news for Blairgowrie".

But BT does not want to stop there and plans to roll out its services into more areas across rural Britain.

Brendan Dick, BT Scotland Director, said more than 2.4 million homes and businesses in the UK use its high-speed services.
