Superfast Cornwall picks up sixth award
The Superfast Cornwall project has won its sixth major award since its inception.

Executives from the organisation beat opposition from the Met Office and Prime Minister's Office to win the public sector category of the Chartered Institute of Marketing's Excellence Awards.

The ceremony, which was hosted by comedian Jimmy Carr, was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in central London and was attended by more than 600 of the country's top marketing professionals.

Ranulf Scarbrough, Superfast Cornwall Programme Director for BT, said: "This is wonderful recognition for a partnership, which has set the superfast broadband pace for rural areas not only in the UK, but also across Europe."

Fibre broadband coverage in Cornwall has now reached a coverage level of 85 per cent, but executives at Superfast Cornwall plan to go further and want 95 per cent of homes and businesses to be able to access its infrastructure by the end of 2014.
