TalkTalk's chief executive has expressed delight at the broadband bundle provider being added to the FTSE4Good Global Index Series.

Writing on the TalkTalk blog, Dido Harding pointed out that the company is now ranked alongside the likes of Marks & Spencer, Manchester United and House of Fraser as one of the world's most eco-friendly firms.

Ms Harding said the recognition is a sign that the group is "on the right track", given that inclusion is granted on the basis of environmental performance, relationships with stakeholders and support for universal human rights.

Businesses that manage to achieve these responsibilities are allowed to be included on the index.

"At TalkTalk we feel that these standards are important for companies to follow, making things better for our employees, our customers and our shareholders," she remarked.

One way that the broadband provider is helping customers is by inviting them to an internet beginners class, which took place on September 20th 2010.

It covered the basics of browsing the web, such as how to use search engines and send emails.
