TalkTalk exec hails Janathon initiative
TalkTalk's communications chief has hailed the Janathon initiative as an example of the internet uniting people.

Writing on the broadband bundle provider's official blog, Mark Schmid moved to raise awareness of the scheme, which challenges people to post online and do exercise every day throughout January 2011.

Mr Schmid described the campaign as the "ultimate new year's resolution" and said it illustrates the power of the net.

"Janathon is a great example of how the internet brings people with a common interest together - in this case helping each other to get fit - in a social, collaborative way," he explained.

The TalkTalk executive went on to reveal the company has partnered with AudioFuel to put up some prizes for the participants who manage to run the furthest next month.

This initiative started life as Juneathon, which saw 87 bloggers get involved when it took place earlier this year and managed to attract more than 160 people to its official Facebook group.
