TalkTalk faced with increasing demand in north-westBundle provider TalkTalk has purchased 2,000 square feet of data centre space in Manchester to help it cope with increased customer demand. ![]() The home phone and broadband provider said it needs to increase its capacity in the region, as its subscribers are using the company's network to send more data and make a greater number of calls, reports the Manchester Evening News. As a result, it has acquired 2,000 square feet of data centre space in Manchester from UK Grid, adding to its four existing facilities - half of which are in Birmingham, with the other half in London. Commenting on the deal, Graham Chisnall from TalkTalk said: "It has been good to work with another north-west-based company, enabling TalkTalk to expand capacity in the region." Towards the end of August, the telecoms firm announced it was testing its forthcoming mobile broadband proposition on a charity bike ride from Land's End to John O'Groats. It will launch its new dongles later this year. Related Stories
