Virgin Media Business states importance of flexible working
Virgin Media's business broadband subsidiary has highlighted the various benefits attached to flexible working arrangements.

Citing research carried out by IT Pro, director of customer service at Virgin Media Business Phil Stewart noted that 53 per cent of graduates now value the opportunity to work flexibly in their new job.

The study of 1,000 university leavers, commissioned by Orange, found that these respondents expected to be able to work outside traditional office hours, or from an external location.

More than two-thirds declared this to be a key aspect of their role, compared with 51 per cent who stated that a good salary was important to them.

Writing for the Virgin Media Business blog, Mr Stewart explained that flexible working can help employees to be more productive, as they will spend less time travelling back and forth between their home and the office.

He added: "As we found out earlier this year when the ash cloud struck, remote working can benefit businesses in a crisis."
