Yorkshire to get more broadband investment
Broadband services in East Yorkshire are to be improved after a communications company announced plans to invest heavily in the region.

Kingston Communications (KC) plans to pump £4 million into the local network infrastructure, with around £1 million reserved for rural villages, improving broadband speeds significantly.

"Customers have told us they want faster, more reliable broadband and we've delivered this by continually improving our services to meet their needs, regularly topping the broadband speed league tables as a result," KC chief executive Kevin Walsh told the Hull Daily Mail.

The investment will be the basis for faster broadband services, he added.

Recently, plans were announced to connect isolated parts of North Yorkshire to a fibre-optic network.

Community broadband group Moorsweb received £50,000 to invest in bringing faster broadband to the area, the Yorkshire Post reported.
