Yoxall benefits from fast broadband
Hundreds of homes in Yoxall, Staffordshire, will be among the first in the county to receive fibre optic broadband.

Staffordshire County Council is working with BT to bring improved download speeds to rural areas of the West Midlands county and expects takeup of its new product to be relatively high.

Mark Winnington, Cabinet Member for Economy and Infrastructure at Staffordshire County Council, said: "Our key priority is to bring prosperity and jobs to Staffordshire and superfast broadband is a part of our strategy on achieving this."

This view of the importance of superfast broadband was shared by Mike Cook, BT's Regional Director for the West Midlands, who stated progress on the project to connect communities to fibre optic broadband connections is going well, reports the Burton Mail.

Mr Cook urged locals interested in BT's expansion into the Yoxall area to follow its @superfaststaffs twitter feed for more information about the rollout.
