Be pledges to give customers the fastest broadband possible
High-speed broadband provider Be has said it is committed to offering customers the fastest possible service.

Managing director of Be Broadband Tom Williams noted that the internet service provider fared well in a recent Ofcom report, which found that the company - and its parent O2 - offers the best speeds of all the UK's DSL packages.

Mr Williams welcomed the study and pledged to continue offering what he describes as "real-world speed" to its customers.

When they were trialling Be's high-speed broadband service, analysts from Ofcom discovered little or no slowdown during the busiest times of the day for internet browsing.

The managing director urged subscribers to tell their friends about the quality of Be's service, commenting: "They might be using one of the slower providers and not realise what's possible when you're with Be."

Although Be and O2 performed strongly compared to other DSL offerings, the partners were still beaten by Virgin Media, which was found to offer the fastest broadband in the country.
