New satellite broadband provider BroadbandEverywhere has announced the launch of a high-speed service powered by the SES Broadband Services platform.

Offering speeds of up to 20Mbps, the product is available to any home or business in England and Wales, with BroadbandEverywhere claiming it is perfect for communities stuck with slow or non-existent fixed-line connectivity.

The service is delivered via the the SES ASTRA 2F satellite using Ka-band capacity. Availability will be extended to a wider geographic area in the coming months following the launch of an additional satellite, ASTRA 2E.

Jason Fernyhough of BroadbandEverywhere said the satellite broadband service provides fast and reliable broadband access "anywhere", freeing consumers from the constraints of fixed-line networks.

"With BroadbandEverywhere you can stop living in the dark ages," he remarked.

Patrick Biewer, Managing Director of SES Broadband Services, added: "Having launched our new high-speed broadband service earlier this year, we are very pleased with the demand already being seen in the market."
