Business broadband 'can minimise disruption'
Business broadband and other technologies can minimise the disruption to organisations when unwanted incidents occur, it is stated.
Alistair McKinnon, senior product manager for IP multimedia at Virgin Media Business, said he is amazed that more companies have not embraced next-generation technology.
Commenting on the current problems surrounding the disruption to aviation due to the volcanic ash cloud, Mr McKinnon stated: "Technologies are really good to help out when the problems occur, but also they are improving productivity on a day to day basis."
If meetings in person have to be cancelled due to the incident, then businesses can still hold them by using technology such as video-calling facilities, he suggested.
In other news, Virgin Media has announced that its home broadband products will be going on show at branches of the new Best Buy home electronics stores, with the first outlet set to open its doors in Thurrock next month.
