Crowle and Ealand broadband rollout to be sped up
Following concerns from residents and businesses about the speed of the superfast broadband rollout in the Isle of Axholme in North Lincolnshire, local MP Andrew Percy has stepped in to negotiate its delivery.

Those based in Crowle and Ealand were due to gain access to the high-speed technology as part of the rollout's first phase, but they were later pushed back to the fourth instead, meaning they wouldn't be connected until summer 2015, the South Yorkshire Times reports.

This was met with protest from local people, who expressed their frustrations via social media platforms and led to a meeting with BT and the North Lincs Broadband Team, where it was agreed that Crowle and Ealand would be connected to superfast broadband before the end of 2014.

Mr Percy also worked with local Councillors Julie Reed and John Briggs to ensure the promise of bringing the superfast service's delivery date forward by several months.

The MP commented: "North Lincs Broadband Team have assured me they are doing all they can to deliver in Crowle as soon as possible. I will keep residents updated."
