Entanet expands Ethernet service portfolio
Entanet has expanded its Ethernet service portfolio with the introduction of Generic Ethernet Access (GEA) in a move designed to help the company's channel partners meet the requirements of more customers.

Similar to fibre-to-the-cabinet technology, GEA makes use of the existing copper infrastructure running between the cabinet and the property, with the cabinet and exchange connected by fibre optic cables.

However, GEA differs in that the traffic then passes on to an Ethernet network instead of the standard broadband infrastructure, giving users the peace of mind that comes from an uncontended service.

The product is available with symmetrical speeds of 2-20Mbps and has a standard installation lead time of 18 days thanks to its reliance on existing infrastructure.

Stephen Barclay, head of sales at Entanet, said: "By adding GEA to our Ethernet service portfolio we're arming our channel partners with yet another high-quality and cost-effective solution that they can use to satisfy an increasingly wide range of customer requirements."
