Exeter marketing boss frustrated by lack of fibre broadband
A businessman from Exeter who runs a video marketing company has claimed the success of his business is being restricted because the area is yet to be introduced to fibre optic broadband.

Alan Wren is in charge of Bitpod, an online company that operates from an office located at Uplands Business Centre on Heavitree Road.

Homes and businesses in the city centre have already been introduced to a next-generation broadband service, but some properties from further afield are still having to contend with connection speeds of less than 2Mbps.

Mr Wren told the Exeter Express and Echo: "The broadband problems we face have serious repercussions on us as a company. The benefits of superfast broadband would mean we could do much more in far less time."

He went on to say that the lack of a high-speed fibre optic service is particularly detrimental to a business like Bitpod, as staff must download and transfer large data files.
