Fibre optic broadband access will come to 1,000 more homes in Cumbernauld by spring 2014.

The rollout is part of a nationwide project by BT. It is investing £2.5 billion improve fibre optic coverage all over the UK.
Some areas of the town have been included in previous phases of the project, with 18,800 premises already having a superfast connection.
When the work is completed next spring it is estimated 104,100 properties in the county of North Lanarkshire will have access to fibre optic broadband.
BT Scotland Director Brendan Dick predicted residents in Cumbernauld can expect to enjoy a much-improved broadband experience.
He said: "This is an exciting time for Cumbernauld's digital future, with widespread availability of fibre broadband services fast becoming a reality for thousands of local homes."
