Gigaclear sees high demand for ultra-fast broadband in Underriver
Underriver residents are eager to receive ultra-fast broadband.
To qualify for Gigaclear to roll out its fibre optic broadband network, villages must comprise at least 400 properties and a minimum of 30 per cent of residents need to express their interest in signing up for the service.
Community group Ultrafast Underriver is leading a scheme that aims to convince Gigaclear to boost connection speeds in the area, reports the Sevenoaks Chronicle.
Joe Frost, head of marketing for Gigaclear, said a large proportion of householders and business owners in the village have already got behind the campaign.
The company is "well on the way to securing sufficient orders for us to start building the first pure fibre broadband network in Kent", he explained.
Underriver Broadband Group member Mike Clyne stated that faster connectivity is vital for the sustainability of small communities. He insisted: "Ultra-fast broadband is not only a technology and communications issue."
