Mobile broadband providers blamed for service issues, says expert
Mobile broadband providers are often blamed for problems encountered by consumers when browsing the web on the move, according to telecoms solutions firm Empirix.

A study commissioned by the company and conducted by Harris Interactive revealed more than 60 per cent of smartphone users in the UK have reported issues with internet searches, text messaging and using other applications.

Some 30 per cent of Brits claimed they often or always come across difficulties when accessing broadband via mobile devices.

Bob Hockman, director of product marketing for Empirix, stated carriers often fail to realise they are being held responsible for these connectivity issues.

"When consumers feel this strain, the initial reaction is dissatisfaction, which quickly turns into blame towards someone or something else for the problems," he added.

In October 2010, a YouGov survey saw 3 Mobile ranked as the best mobile broadband provider in the UK.

The company came out on top for connection speeds, reliability, ease of use and value for money.
