Next stage for Lincs broadband project
Residents in Lincolnshire are a step closer to receiving super-fast broadband speeds after a local scheme received a government green light.

Northern Lincolnshire Broadband can now move onto the next stage after authorities assessed the project’s readiness to complete the procurement process.

The milestone now means that bidders can be invited to tender and the project is on course to make northern Lincolnshire one of the best connected places in the whole of the UK, with super-fast broadband on hand to ensure that small businesses can access new markets, keep expenses down and ultimately support the local economy.

"It will really make a difference for North Lincolnshire and ensure we are secured firmly on the map as an area that is continually growing and improving," said councillor Liz Redfern, leader of North Lincolnshire Council.

With the imminent introduction of 24Mbps speeds across the region, the council is already inviting businesses to take advantage and set up their own websites.
