O2 launches new network strength tool
O2 has launched a new webpage designed to give customers the opportunity to check on the strength and status of the company's network in their area.

The mobile broadband provider's coverage checker allows users to enter their postcode and view details of indoor and outdoor signal reception, as well as information about planned maintenance work.

Along with providing data about signal strength for voice, text and email services, consumers are also given advice on whether a particular area is well-suited to mobile broadband usage.

Gavin Sheldon, head of networks at O2, said: "We believe it's essential to provide transparency to both existing and potential customers so that they are able to make informed choices around our products and services."

He explained the company believes consumers to prefer to receive accurate and detailed information rather than being given "abstract percentages" that may not provide them with a full and clear picture.
