O2 has announced the launch of its Guru TV YouTube channel, which enables consumers to get help and support on using a wide range of technology.

It offers advice on an array of subjects, including home and mobile broadband, apps and even money-saving tips. The network operator explained it is keen to make mobile gadgets and innovations accessible to everyone.

The online resource is free to use and can be accessed by anyone, not just the carrier's existing customers. It currently consists of more than 400 videos that cover some of the most common queries facing consumers, with over 50 new clips being added each month.

This move comes after the launch of O2's in-store Guru service in 2010. The company now has 150 Gurus on its books, operating in stores across the UK.

As well as possessing an impressive knowledge of mobile technology, these experts are trained to answer people's questions in a simple, easy-to-understand manner.

They are employed purely to help rather than sell, meaning their advice is intended to be impartial and not favour any individual product.

Sally Cowdry, O2's marketing director, said the company's Gurus are its most passionate and knowledgeable experts when it comes to an array of complex gadgets.

"We know how much customers value our in-store Gurus and with the launch of O2 Guru TV we're making it even easier for anyone to get technical help and advice from O2," she added.

Innovations such as this helped the network perform strongly in JD Power and Associates' recent report on customer satisfaction in the internet service provider (ISP) sector.

The company was ranked second for its fixed-line broadband products with a score of 710 out of 1,000, just seven points behind rival ISP Plusnet.

And it beat off the likes of 3 Mobile and Orange to take the top spot in the mobile broadband category.
