Review launched into Welsh broadband
A review has been launched into the Welsh government's delivery of superfast broadband.
The Auditor General has announced plans to investigate the effectiveness of the government's work in trying to deliver the high-speed technology to homes and businesses in the country, following concerns about how funding is being used.
At the centre of the review will be the question: "Is the Welsh government's approach to rolling out broadband infrastructure to households and businesses likely to deliver its intended benefits?"
To answer this, the Wales Audit Office will survey approximately 1,000 residential and commercial properties in the country to see whether or not progress has been made regarding the rollout of superfast broadband and if the benefits of the service are being experienced.
In addition, it will look at how the government plans to continue delivery of the high-speed service and what its targets for coverage completion are.
The review will also take into account views from members of the public and the findings will then be compiled together to create an official report.
