TalkTalk to extend network to 93% of customers
TalkTalk has revealed plans to extend its own Next Generation Network to nine in ten of its customers.

A number of TalkTalk subscribers currently receive their broadband via BT's infrastructure, but the company is keen to expand its own coverage in the coming months.

Chief executive of TalkTalk Dido Harding stated 81 per cent of its customers are now on its own network and the company plans to increase this figure to 93 per cent by adding 700 new exchanges across the UK.

She insisted that having control of its own infrastructure offers a range of benefits to TalkTalk and its subscribers.

"Our fully unbundled Next Generation Network enables us to deliver more products and better service to our customers and is the key driver of our improving customer mix," Ms Harding explained.

TalkTalk's broadband bundles start at £6.99 per month plus line rental, a price which includes a 40GB usage allowance and unlimited evening and weekend calls to home phones in the UK.
