Ultrafast broadband boost for Liverpool
Homes and businesses across Liverpool are now able to connect to new ultrafast broadband infrastructure following the launch of services by network provider hyperoptic.

A total of five developments have so far been connected to the new next-generation broadband network, which offers download speeds of up to 1 Gbps.

Plans are also now in place to extend coverage for the scheme to the whole of the Liverpool area over the coming months, with the company hoping to achieve this ambitious goal by the end of the year.

Doing so will mean more than 20 communities in Liverpool will have access to ultrafast broadband - helping place the city as one of the best-connected in the UK and improving average download speeds for the area from their present level of just under 20 Mbps.

Hyperoptic national team manager Tim Huxtable commented: "We are investing millions in telecoms infrastructure to extend our footprint. The reception to our services has been phenomenal - the difference in experience is like chalk and cheese."
