Virgin Media has agreed a deal with Nottingham Building Society to provide the financial institution with high-speed business broadband.

Under the terms of the contract, Virgin Media will offer the company speeds of up to 100Mb/s, which it claimed will allow staff to perform their daily tasks more quickly.

Head of IT at Nottingham Building Society Jack Cutts said the high-speed broadband access will help his company to improve existing standards of customer service.

"With easier access to account information, we will now be able to turn around queries faster and provide a more personalised customer experience," he explained.

The business broadband connection will enable branches in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire to exchange data easily and securely, Virgin Media stated.

Earlier this month, Virgin Media Business announced a similar agreement with a Volkswagen dealership in the south-west.

Silver Street Automotive Group described its new network as tougher and faster, and said it would help to provide a more impressive service to customers.
