Mobile broadband survey shows consumers willing to pay more
A new survey has found that more than two-thirds of consumers use mobile broadband regularly and 63 per cent could be willing to pay more in return for "value added services".

The research, carried out by Acision, looked into users' quality of experience, satisfaction and acceptance of current levels of video quality.

Although the majority said mobile broadband is a valuable and important aspect of their online activity, six in ten agreed reliability, speed and coverage are the most crucial elements.

More than three-quarters said they experience quality problems of some sort, such as slow connectivity and stability.

Regarding the value added services, 41 per cent said they are willing to pay more for features such as notifications, while roaming (34 per cent), customisation (30 per cent) and spend control (35 per cent) were also mentioned.

"A further investment in capability is required to reach to the next stage of mobile broadband evolution," remarked Steven van Zanen, senior vice president of mobile data control at Acision.

The news follows a study by Global Reviews, which last week ranked Vodafone as the top mobile broadband carrier in an assessment of more than 800 criteria.
