Orange to enter mobile broadband network-sharing deal?
Orange is expected to join 3 Mobile and T-Mobile in a mobile broadband network-sharing agreement.

According to tech news site ZDNet UK, the network operator is gearing up to enter the Mobile Broadband Network Limited (MBNL) joint venture and should confirm this matter in a statement today (September 3rd 2010).

Citing industry sources, the news provider claimed that Orange will contribute "a few thousand of its own masts" to the initiative, which involves each of the service providers pooling their resources to cut costs and boost mobile broadband signal.

ZDNet UK added that 3 Mobile will remain as a 50 per cent partner in MBNL, with the remaining 50 per cent now shared by Orange and T-Mobile, which are run by parent company Everything Everywhere.

The former rivals became integrated at the start of July and have become the largest communications company in the country, with a combined customer base of more than 30 million people.
