Sky News finds Brits not keen to cut back on broadband
UK consumers would rather save money on food and holidays than broadband, according to a new study.
The poll asked more than 1,000 people what they would cut back on first if times became hard, with food coming at the top of the list, followed by holiday expenditure and eating out in restaurants.
Brits would least like to curtail their spending on pets and their broadband subscriptions, which the news provider said is proof that "we are increasingly relying on technology".
Research analyst Michael Garland told Sky News Online that many respondents expressed concern about the impact of the current economic climate on their finances.
"Uncertainty surrounding job security, combined with rising costs for commodities such as food and drink, petrol, and electricity and gas have led to money worries for many," Mr Garland commented.
This research comes after the Office for National Statistics revealed that 38 million adults in the UK use the internet, with 30 million browsing the web every day, or almost this often.
