TalkTalk's yet-to-be-released mobile broadband proposition has come through one of its first tests with flying colours.

The broadband and home phone provider gave its new dongles to two customers who were set to raise money for charity by cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats.

It enabled the two riders to blog about their progress and stay in touch with friends, family and people they met throughout the course of the journey.

After completing the epic mission, one of the cyclists - Sarah Beckingsale - said the mobile broadband service had proved to be very useful.

"Using your dongle to blog has proved a great success - friends, family and random people we met en route have loved being able to follow our adventure and are missing the daily updates," she explained.

Communications director at the TalkTalk Group Mark Schmid has previously announced on the telecoms provider's blog that the mobile broadband proposition will be launched before the end of 2010.
