Business leaders hail Worcestershire superfast broadband plans
Fibre broadband will offer a boost to Worcestershire businesses, says Nigel Robinson of the Broadway Traders Association.
Broadway, Ashton-under-Hill, Badsey, Cropthorne and Harvington have all been included in the initial phase of the deployment, which will ultimately see more than 700km of fibre optic cable installed across the county.
Nigel Robinson, Chairman of the Broadway Traders Association, told the Evesham Observer that local traders were pleased with the imminent arrival of faster connectivity and said the technology would provide a boost for the economy.
"There are a lot of businesses in Broadway which are nationally and internationally run and it will be a big benefit for them to be working with faster communications technology," he explained.
Under the £20 million public-private partnership between the county council and BT, superfast broadband is set to be rolled out to almost 55,000 homes and businesses.
