Fibre optic broadband saves Skipton firm from relocation
A company based in Skipton has avoided having to relocate from the town after gaining access to fibre optic broadband.

Principle Healthcare, which produces mineral supplements in collaboration with a manufacturing plant in Slovakia, feared it would have had to move its head office to a location with better connectivity.

However, thanks to an agreement between service provider BT and the local council, it now has a superfast connection.

The company is one of the main employers in the district of Craven and the decision to remain at its current premises at Airedale Business Centre has saved the jobs of many local residents.

Chief Executive Mike Davies expressed his delight at the next-generation service enabling the business to continue to drive towards it long-term targets, while staying at its current home.

He said: "Now we can continue to plan for the future at Airedale Business Centre, confident that this technology can help us expand the company in line with our aspirations."
