Goodwin Development Trust takes advantage of Quickline wireless broadband
Social enterprise the Goodwin Development Trust (GDT) has signed up for Quickline's wireless broadband service in a bid to slash the cost of communication between its various sites.

Based in the heart of Hull, the GDT offers a wide range of programmes and services related to fields such as employment, health, children and communities.

Russell Greenwood, the organisation's IT manager, explained that the Goodwin headquarters has been connected to two hubs through the Quickline service, allowing for communication between the sites at no additional cost.

"High-speed internet and resilient site-to-site connections are essential to the continued success of the services we deliver to the people of Hull," he was quoted by the Hull Daily Mail as saying.

Quickline's director Gaynor Osborne-Lawn pointed out that the majority of modern organisations rely heavily on web access, with broadband technology becoming a key element to their ongoing success.

Given the current economic climate, it is important for the non-profit sector in particular to find more competitively priced solutions, she added.
