A new business broadband system from Telappliant has been launched which is optimised for Voice over IP (VoIP) telephony systems.

Telappliant's connectAssure business broadband offers 24Mbps download speeds and 1.5 Mbps upload speeds and is designed to replace companies' existing Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) circuits.

The new broadband system means firms will be able to run up to 50 calls at the same time on a single connection and promises cost savings of as much as 70 per cent on their current ISDN circuits.

Telappliant has highlighted the fact that it owns one of the UK's largest VoIP networks, meaning it has access "to the most comprehensive Point of Presence foot prints outside of British Telecom", as a reason businesses may want to sign up to the deal.

Business broadband products are also available from Opal, the business division of broadband bundles provider TalkTalk.

Commenting yesterday (June 15th) on statistics from the US, the firm said in a statement: "Many businesses are also finding that VoIP solutions give them the best of both worlds as they not only save money, but also benefit from increased flexibility."
