Mobile broadband management 'could save firms money'
Companies using mobile broadband can save a large proportion of their wireless costs through better management of these facilities, an analyst has claimed.

Research by Gartner has found that the majority of companies have yet to develop thorough wireless usage policies.

Phil Redman, research vice-president at the firm, has claimed that these are a crucial way of managing a very complex service.

He asserted: "Through 2015, closer management of wireless services can save companies ten per cent to 35 per cent of their wireless costs."

Companies looking to maximise the efficiency of their wireless broadband can produce a document that is short and to the point if this is well-read and adopted.

Mr Redman added that it is important these policies are rolled out from the top down if they are to be effective.

Last month, Gartner predicted that broadband bundles will grow in popularity as more firms rely on outsourcing their IT assets and using software-as-a-service approaches instead.
